Call Central Coast Pool and Spa for expert pool, hot tub, and spa repair service and maintenance in Paso Robles, Atascadero, Templeton, and other areas of North County. The company, in business since 2013, offers a full range of services for all aspects of maintaining and repairing pools, hot tubs, and pools from regular cleaning to equipment maintenance.
The first step to protecting the investment in your spa is regular maintenance. Depending on the quality, a spa can last from 5 to 20 years. Regardless of the initial cost, maintenance, and necessary repairs performed on time are the best way to make sure you get the most enjoyment from your spa as possible.
Something as simple as not maintaining the correct water chemistry can result in a clogged filter, which in turn can cause problems with the pump or heater. Other things, like not cleaning the spa and removing leaves, insects, and other debris, or letting the water get too low can also cause problems. Central Coast Pool and Spa has the experience, knowledge, and expertise to provide top-quality services to keep your spa in peak condition and perform necessary repairs when needed.
You love your spa and we work to keep it that way!
Spa owners often find themselves pressed for the extra time needed to keep everything in good condition. When repairs are needed, they might decide to just buy a new part, such as a pump, instead of repairing the old one. Frequently Asked Questions
My spa is in a gazebo with a roof, why does it need a cover?
The cover helps keep the water clean. Even when there is a roof over the spa, the wind can blow in leaves and other debris. Wildlife and neighborhood cats, stopping by for a drink of water, can easily fall into the spa, contaminating the water.
A cover also helps keep the water warm, reducing the time it takes to heat it, and preventing evaporation. Evaporating water means an imbalance in the water chemicals, potentially causing other problems. Low water levels can cause problems with the pump and other equipment.
Is it true that we are supposed to shower before using the spa?
When someone uses lotion or creams on their skin, it’s a good idea to shower to remove excess oil. Oils get into the spa water and can change the chemical balance. If one uses the spa frequently there is the potential of oil building up and clogging the filter.
It’s also not a good idea to use essential oils directly in the spa, for the same reasons given above.
Another tip for keeping the spa clean is to only enter it with clean feet. Wear shoes or slippers between the house and spa to prevent even the smallest particles of dirt from getting into the spa. Or, place a pan of water nearby to rinse your feet before entering the spa. Following these guidelines can help remove the need for emergency spa repair services.
What are the most important steps to keeping my spa in top shape?
The basics for spa maintenance include:
- Keeping the water chemically balanced.
- Keeping the water clean by removing debris and routinely skimming the water’s surface.
- Make sure the water is circulating by checking the pump and filter and cleaning if needed.
- Regularly drain the spa, clean it, and refill it.
These are the basic tasks that need to be done frequently.
- Testing the water’s chemical balance is most effective if done a few times a week when the spa is used frequently. Chemicals need to be added as indicated by the test strip.
- Skimming the water and removing debris needs to be done every time something foreign is observed.
- Draining, cleaning, and refilling the spa can be done every three to four months. Clean the walls, seats, and floor with water and a recommended cleaning solution. Be sure to clean the filters.
